A: Any third party that now has access to a CRS account will continue to have the same access after the redesign. So, a third party who has access to file and pay on behalf of a CRS taxpayer, will have that same access for all of that taxpayer’s new business tax accounts. If the third party has view-only access now, they will have the same access on the new system.
The redesign will allow for taxpayers to more precisely tailor access privileges for third parties. For example, a taxpayer will be able to choose to grant a third party access to their Withholding account but not to their Gross Receipts account. So, taxpayers may want to review and update their access privilege agreements once the redesign is complete.
