I have a manufactured home. In order to refinance it and the land it sits on, I was told by the finance company that I must deactivate the title. If this is so, what do I have to do?

Regulation,2,3 Manufactured Homes – When Valued as Real Property addresses the property owner's request for the county assessor to value the unit as real property. To qualify, the owner must also own the land where the home is situated. Certain restrictions set by the Manufactured Housing Division must be met before approving the request, such as removing the tongue and axle. The title of the unit must be deactivated according to Regulation NMAC of the Motor Vehicle Code before the change in valuation can occur.
